Mpala Research Centre sits in the heart of Laikipia County, a living laboratory where scientists, students and conservationists from around the world work side by side on urgent global challenges, from protecting endangered species and understanding climate change to studying human-wildlife coexistence and advancing public health. The landscape is home to over 550 bird species. At Mpala, research is not confined to books or screens; it is lived and experienced in the field, making the centre a place where work becomes part of the wider story of conservation.
