Privacy Policy

GoKazini is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through the Platform. For any matter relating to this Policy or your personal data, contact us at admin@gokazini.co.ke.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Identity and contact data: name, email address and telephone number.
• Career and profile data: curriculum vitae, employment history, education, skills and other information you submit to use our career tools.
• Transaction data: payment phone number, transaction references and receipts processed via M-Pesa (Safaricom Daraja) and Paystack. We do not collect or store M-Pesa PINs or full payment card numbers, which are handled by the respective payment processors.
• Usage and technical data: pages and jobs viewed, tools used, device and browser information, and analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
• Communications data: messages you send us and your notification preferences.

We process personal data to: (a) create and administer your account; (b) provide job listings and the AI career tools; (c) process subscription and top-up payments; (d) communicate service information and, where permitted, marketing; (e) maintain the security and integrity of the Platform; and (f) comply with legal obligations. We rely on the lawful bases of performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests, and compliance with law, as applicable.

Certain features (including CV Review, CV Revamp, Cover Letter, Career Q&A and Interview Practice) transmit the information you provide to third-party artificial intelligence providers for the sole purpose of generating your requested output. Such data is not used by those providers to train their models. We engage only reputable providers offering appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.

We do not sell personal data. We disclose personal data only to processors and partners who act on our behalf, including hosting and database providers, AI providers, and payment partners (Safaricom for M-Pesa, and Paystack for card and Airtel Money). We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Some of our infrastructure providers store data outside Kenya, including within the European Union. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, we take steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected data subjects and the Data Protection Commissioner as required by law.

Subject to the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to be informed of the use of your data; to access your data; to request correction or deletion; to object to or restrict processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact admin@gokazini.co.ke. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).

We use cookies and analytics tools (including Google Analytics) to understand usage and improve the Platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
