Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Psychology, Child Protection or a related field.
Professional training in child protection and safeguarding is an added advantage.
Previous experience in social work, child welfare, community work or a related field.
Experience in a children's home or residential child-care setting is an added advantage.
Good knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, children's rights, family strengthening and case management.
Good counselling and psychosocial-support skills.
Good report-writing and documentation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive child-welfare information.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with children, families, staff, government officers, schools, health facilities and community stakeholders.
Good computer skills, including report preparation and electronic record management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to the best interests of children and to providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
Previous experience working with children, particularly within a children's home, child-protection programme, residential-care setting or similar institution, will be an added advantage.
