Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Master's degree in any of the following fields: Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Qualifications in accordance with STCW 1978 as amended, i.e., valid Certificate of Competency (CoC).
Certificate of Competency: Second Engineer (III/2) or Chief Mate (II/2).
Approval by Kenya Maritime Authority would be an added advantage.
Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Senior Principal Trainer II (MET) or in a comparable position.
Competence-Based Assessment certificate from a recognized institution.
Pedagogical skills training certificate from a recognized institution.
Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks will be an added advantage.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
