A. Candidates with a Medical Background: Cumulative service period of three (3) years' relevant work experience in the grade of Senior Lecturer or in a comparable position.
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields from a recognized institution: Medicine and Surgery; Pharmacy; Dentistry.
Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Developed at least three (3) teaching manuals.
Certificate in Teaching Methodology Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
Valid practising licence from the relevant regulatory body where applicable.
Been registered by the relevant professional body where applicable.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
B. Other Lecturer Disciplines: Cumulative service period of nine (9) years' relevant work experience, three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Senior Lecturer or in a comparable position.
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields from a recognized institution: Clinical Medicine; Nursing; Public Health; Physiology; Medical Biochemistry; Parasitology; Microbiology; Chemistry; Health Promotions; Medical Imaging Sciences; Medical Laboratory Sciences; Optometry; Health Records Information Technology; Physiotherapy; Medical Engineering; Occupational Therapy; Nutrition; or any other relevant field.
OR a KMTC Higher National Diploma in: Clinical Medicine and Surgery – Nephrology; Paediatrics; Ophthalmology; Advanced Refraction and Low Vision; Palliative Care Nursing; Kenya Registered Nurse Anesthesia; Medical Engineering – Dialysis; Renal Pharmacy; Renal Nutrition; Pelvic Health and Physiotherapy; Clinical Medicine Orthopaedic and Trauma Technology – Paediatrics; Clinical Medicine and Surgery – Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery; Clinical Pharmacy; Medical Social Work; Medical Laboratory Sciences – Nephrology; Oncology Nursing.
