Ph.D. in health economics; alternatively, Ph.D. in a related quantitative field and at 2+ years' experience working in health economics, health financing, or econometrics
Experience working in costing or cost-effectiveness analysis of health interventions
Experience and skills in health financing assessments
Experience in statistical analysis, including statistical tests and basic regressions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in econometrics and its application to the economics of health systems such as equity and efficiency analysis
Experience in using modeling approaches in cost-effectiveness analysis, including decision trees and Markov models
Experience working with ministries of health or public health departments
Exposure to policymaking processes and data-to-action frameworks
Experience in analysis of epidemiological, public health, clinical trial, or other health data
Published articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Minimum Competencies
Professional proficiency in English or French
Proficiency in working with cost and financial data, including assembly, management, analysis, and interpretation
Proficiency in at least one data analysis language (R or Stata)
Proficiency in data visualization
Clear and effective communication of quantitative work to non-experts
Ability to deliver on multiple priorities and programs of work with diverse methodological approaches
Ability to work occasional extended hours to meet a deadline
Ability to work productively as part of a team as well as independently drive a program of work to completion
Ability to effectively deliver outputs and collaborate with team members in a remote, distributed working environment
Preferred Competencies
Professional proficiency in both English and French
Familiarity with health systems and health delivery
Familiarity with issues of public health in African settings
