A Master's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Public Health or another field relevant to the area of study.
Willingness to commit the required effort and dedication to successful completion of the PhD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical and scientific writing skills.
Demonstrated personal motivation to undertake doctoral research.
Clear intention to pursue a long-term career in malaria research.
Commitment to work in Kilifi County, Kenya for the duration of the studies.
Proficiency in data-analysis software and appropriate statistical methods.
Hands-on experience in field data collection, including supporting data-collection activities and coordinating fieldwork.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Practical molecular biology skills such as PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing, cell culture and microscopy.
Relevant fieldwork experience.
