AIC Kijabe Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Manager – Legal Affairs to provide strategic legal guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, manage legal risks, and safeguard the hospital's interests. The successful candidate will support management by providing sound legal advice while ensuring compliance with healthcare laws, corporate governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
What you will do
Provide legal advice and guidance to management on corporate, commercial, employment, and healthcare legal matters.
Review, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks affecting hospital operations.
Represent and coordinate the hospital's legal interests in disputes, litigation, and external engagements.
Develop and review organizational legal policies and procedures.
Monitor changes in legislation and advise management on their impact.
Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Promote legal awareness and compliance across the organization.
Support risk management initiatives by providing legal perspectives on operational and strategic decisions.
What you bring
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB).
Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practising certificate.
Minimum of 3 years' legal experience in a large and dynamic hospital or similar environment.
Demonstrated ability to make risk-based decisions in complex organizational environments.
Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Ability to analyze, contextualize, and synthesize broad organizational issues and objectives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
