A four-year Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is required.
The qualification must be from an accredited engineering programme or equivalent recognized by the relevant host-country engineering board.
Experience Requirements
At least five years of experience working as a project engineer or engineer in an environment such as a manufacturing plant, major resort, hospital, office complex or large university/school system.
Experience managing preventive maintenance programmes using a CMMS.
Experience developing scopes of work.
Experience preparing construction documents, plans and specifications.
Experience developing cost estimates for new construction, repairs, equipment overhauls and replacement schedules.
Evidence of progressively increasing responsibility during their career.
At least one year of experience managing or supervising a minimum of five subordinates.
Language Requirements
English: Level 4 – Fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
Kiswahili: Level 4 – Fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
Technical Knowledge
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering theory and Ohm's Law.
Strong knowledge of sizing of generators, transformers, motor starters, wiring and circuit breakers.
Strong knowledge of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Strong knowledge of electrical fault diagnosis and repair.
Strong knowledge of lock-out/tag-out electrical safety procedures.
Strong knowledge of electrical contractors and suppliers.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems design and construction practices.
Strong knowledge of U.S. electrical codes and specifications.
Strong knowledge of engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of preparation of scopes of work.
Strong knowledge of computer-aided design using AutoCAD.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, riser diagrams and wiring schematics.
Ability to interpret equipment schedules and construction documents.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.
Electrical engineering drafting and engineering management software skills.
Ability to prepare and maintain construction inspection logs.
Ability to review design drawings for code compliance.
Ability to prepare electrical engineering cost estimates.

Other Requirements
Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or security certificate.
