Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in wellsite or operations geology, with prior field experience in drilling, coring, and logging operations highly desirable.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Strong practical skills in core and cuttings description, stratigraphic interpretation, and basic sedimentology.
Competence in interpreting LWD/wireline logs, mud logging data, and basic petrophysical outputs, with the ability to integrate multiple geological data sources.
Proficiency in wellsite reporting systems, sample tracking processes, subsurface software (e.g., Petrel and other wellsite platforms), and good geological data management practices.
Knowledge of sample handling, core preservation, laboratory testing requirements, and geological metadata standards.
Sound understanding of drilling operations, rig terminology, casing programs, and basic well control principles.
Behavioural & Interpersonal Skills
Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to data recording and quality control.
Clear and effective communicator, able to liaise with drilling crews, petrophysics and reservoir teams, and present concise wellsite updates to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Decisive and composed under pressure, with sound operational judgement and the ability to support critical wellsite decisions.
Team player, adaptable to shift work and remote living; culturally aware and able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience & Conditions
Proven experience working on wellsites or in operations geology roles in onshore or offshore environments.
Willingness to work rotational shifts in remote camps, including extended hours during critical operations.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with sampling and core handling in field conditions.
